but most people call me just call me Nate. I am a graphic designer located in Hamilton, Waikato. My work primarily includes graphic design. I also specialise in media related areas as well.

My artistic passion:
Over my life, I have always been interested in all kinds of artistic mediums. At first I enjoyed drawing. I used to fill A4 math grid books with comics which aren’t very good in retrospect, but I was young.
I developed an interest in filmmaking during intermediate school. At the time I was initially inspired by both my oldest brother who would direct and make them. I was also inspired by Final Cut King (Zach King) from YouTube. My brothers and I would create short films together. I wanted to direct and make my own ones though. So I took over the spot of director and editor.
During High School I took art class but in year 11 the design option opened up to me. This was where I first realised that I was at the very least interested in design. Here I learnt basic Photoshop and extremely basic Illustrator. However it wasn’t until the following year when I moved to a different city (and new school) where I would really get into design.
I also took a photography class which introduced me to using real digital cameras, not just phones, handycams and gopro’s. I did drop the photography class in Year 13 as I thought having to do two full NCEA level three art-boards in both design and photography would be a lot to complete on top of my other classes.
I decided I wanted to study design at University. So I moved back to Hamilton and studied at the University of Waikato, over the next three years I would complete the Bachelor of Design with a major in Media Design. I chose Media design because I had a strong passion for media related areas over my life but I would also be able to do design why my passion lies.
Hobbies:
In my spare time I need to keep myself busy. I love to draw and this year I have been trying to experiment where I can with oil pastels and how I can find different ways to use them. I hope to expand into painting later on in the year!
In the last few years Ive found myself gravitating back to Skateboarding. While during the winter months its harder to go out and skate around during the rainy days, I try to catch the sunny dry weather when I can to go out for a ride. Im not the best at it but I have seen improvements in both my physicality and mental fortitude when it comes to the sport.
In the downtime between work, skating and making art I enjoy various different forms of media. I am a serial movie-watcher of both good and bad films. I love to watch all genres and get inspired by the creative decisions that go into making films.
My four favourites include, Heat(1995), Almost Famous(2000), Sinners(2025), and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
I love music and have started collecting vinyl this year. (My favourite musician at the moment is Kevin Abstract with his latest album). My favourite way to listen to my music is with my Apple Earbuds, somehow I find that the quality just beats over-ear headphones. They are so versatile and compact, I take them wherever I go.
