OPCYCLE

Project Brief:
The goal of this project was to create a capstone project for the 2024 end of year design show. This project had to align with one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) made by the United Nations. In my case, the SDG I chose was “Responsible Consumption and Production”.

I came up with the idea to make an app which compiles all of the op-shops in the local area (Hamilton in this case). It allows shop owners to upload selected featured clothes tobring revenue and potential new customers to their stores. Users are able to see all storesin both list-form and map-form, and can reserve clothes that they like, but only for 30 minutes.

Logo and Brand Colours
Utilised earthy tones in my early ideation in order to create a visual link to environmentalism and recycling.

Posters and Marketing
I had to create posters as one of my deliverables. Initially I wanted to produce three in total. Here are some of my developments.

However I decided to refine one into my final poster.

RFID Tag design:
I also wanted to include reusable RFID tags for shop owners to use in order to label and keep track of the stock that has been put up on Opcycle.

App Development
Personally I am not an app designer. However that is why I chose to create an app. It was so I could challenge myself to try something new.

Below they can be found in both a spread layout and in an embed video.

Final Promotional Video:

The final deliverable was a promotional video for the app. This video was a required element of the capstone project, but I had planned to make it anyway.
